Community Editorial: How To Stay Safe On Xat!

This post will tell you how to stay safe on xat.com!

What are scam sites?

A scam site is created to get peoples information. People who created the site usually created the site often goes to random chats and send the scam site to other users. Scam sites are often sent to people with powers! Scam sites is a fake site created to get users information! Once the information has been sent the owner of the site (the scammer) will be able to access there account!

This is often how a user is sent the site: http://i51.tinypic.com/28wkuwn.jpg (fake picture). If a user thinks they can get free xats and days they will have not even think twice before entering there information!

A scam site may look like this: http://i55.tinypic.com/6qftqv.jpg

The picture above is of an old scam site. Sometimes it can be really hard to tell if the site is real! Users might even ask you test a new feature for xat.com e.g. xat mobile!

If a user ever sends you a scam site report it to xat.com/support!

Protecting yourself

When registering for any site you should always use a different password from your email! If you do enter your email address and password into a scam site then you are in big danger of loosing other accounts e.g. facebook! See below how this is done! Also remember your secret question that you used with your email address and never tell anyone this information. If you are scared you are going to forget it then write it down somewhere safe!

How can I lose other accounts?

If a scammer has access to your email address they can easily go to another site you have an account with (facebook) and click forgotten password. Once they have done this they have access to that account and if they change your email password there could be no way of getting it back!

Other Methods of Scamming

1st: Someone tells you a program, you enter your email address and password and they say you can get free xats and days by doing this!
2nd: Someone says you can double your powers. You can see your powers doubled and then the person who helped you double the powers will ask you for a set of them. If course the double powers are fake and if you did trade your 2nd set of powers it would actually been your main set! After they accepted the trade they would of scammed you!
3rd: Someone says play connect 4 for powers (betting)! If you win the person who comes to you will just go ofline! You could be playing with a honest person but its not worth it. Never bet because you would pay if you lost, but they would not pay if you won!
4th: Someone tells you to use transfer instead of trade! Only transfer if its a gift! If your trading then use fair trade only! To use this type ” trade ” into the chat and click on it!
5th: If you going to buy an ID then be careful! ID’s are a very easy way to get scammed! Please scroll down for more information on ID selling!

Lending powers

You should never lend powers out to anyone. If a user says ” i will hack you or i will give you xats through transfer” don’t believe them! If a user keeps on annoying you simply ignore them. Also report them to a chat moderator / owner. If you fill scared that you will be hacked then contact xat.com/support!

Identification Number Selling

You must be very careful while buying ID’s. If a user ever offers you a ID for a small price. NOTE: If the ID is very small then it would be worth a lot! Please see pictures below that:

http://i54.tinypic.com/2qd39li.jpg – This ID is FAKE! People may show you a picture like this and could be believed easily! After you have got your FAKE proof they would ask you to send the xats! When they have got the xats you would of been scammed!

http://i54.tinypic.com/qqu5g0.jpg – This is a post of someone selling a FAKE ID. Remember scamming is not allowed and as showed in this picture the xat user has got their deleted!

When buying ID’s always make sure the person selling always goes first. This is to protect yourself from being scammed. This might stop you from buying the ID but its not worth getting scammed. If you ever become a fake ID seller then report them to xat.com/support!
If you have been scammed out of buying an ID then xat will not be able to help you!

If you are planning on selling xats, days or powers for cash please be careful! NOTE: Selling xats for real cash is also against xat.com terms and services!

As it says in xats in xat.com terms of service:
It is your sole responsibility to ensure that you are not scammed or phished while using the service. xat.com is unable to resolve scamming or phishing disputes between users, this includes but it not limited to reversing trades, returning xats, days, powers after a bargain did not turn out as you expected. You may report scammers and phishing sites to xat.com/support, xat may take action against them including suspending or locking accounts with no further communication with you.

If a user send you a website which is blocked then don’t type it manually! Xat.com blocks theses sites to protect their users from virus and seeing inappropriate content!
